KATIE'S INTERVIEW WITH SHAKTI
Welcome to KATIE'S COLUMN where each week she interviews a different character from the hit film MASTER KILLERS.
This week's interviewee: SHAKTI
Hello my loyal readers! Recently I had the grand opportunity to interview the infamous assassin Shakti. As some of you may know Shakti is a revolutionary who freed her people from slavery in East Africa. However, the freedom came with a price as Shakti killed hundreds of French and Dutch missionaries. Some would call it a slaughter but we'll let history decide.
Usually I am not one to give into rumors or hype but much has been said about this woman and I was glad to have the opportunity to finally meet her. Although, as you will soon see, it was not much of a meeting or interview for that matter. Yes, I felt somewhat uncomfortable interviewing someone responsible for the death of hundreds of innocent people and who could at any minute, if she wished to, take my life as well. Shakti, as she appeared to me is a very complicated woman. She seemed resolute often starring directly into my eyes without so much of a blink or twitch. We met in a small run down apartment in New York's East Village at 4:35 AM. Right away I could tell that this woman could really handle herself. Here is the interview unedited and in its entirety.
Kate: Hello Shakti, how are you?
Shakti: I am like the sun crossing the sky on a cloudy night.
Kate: Oh, okay then. So Shakti do you have a last name?
Shakti: No.
Kate: Tell me about your childhood. Our readers would like to know.
Shakti: No.
Kate: Okay. What about your lover Seth. Can you tell us how things are with him?
Shakti: No.
Kate: Right. Well lets see now what about you. What makes you tick?
Shakti: Nothing.
Kate: Shakti, you are not being cooperative. We're doing an interview here. I need you to open up.
Shakti: No.
Kate: You seem distant sort of dark. Let's explore that.
Shakti: No.
Kate: I see. Are you afraid to? Is there something that big bad Shakti is afraid of?
Shakti: NO!!!
Kate: Then tell us. Tell us about the side of Shakti that every reader is dying to know.
Shakti: You want to talk about my dark side? You want to get in to my mind and discuss the bitterness that has a permanent stamp on my soul? There was a time that I did not hesitate to kill those who over stepped their boundaries and deserved to die. What did it matter? Their life was already broken. They deserved every cut from my blade and every bash from my fist. You felt that cold menacing panic in the back of your throat? That was me stepping up behind you about to make the blood spray free from the prison that is your skin. I was a drooling vulture ready to dive down and take what was owed to my people. I would have eaten the very breath you need to survive if it meant my people would be free. Not even the begging whimper of your small child could stop me from taking from you and giving to the ones I call my own. I was feared. I am feared. Let's get a little deeper. Let's go to the place where my bitterness lies. Let's enter the womb of my evil and spread it around for all to see. Fatherless I dove into this empty world. He was the dark bird that hid my blackness making it white as snow. He was the one who turned my face in to an empty pit of hate. I pray that one day I will rest my eyes on his and destroy him with the blade of my shame. He is the reason I kill. He is the reason I will bring you down to your knees and have you beg for mercy. He is the reason I seek your end. Don't let him fool you. He will come to you in the night and claim he has the light and the truth. He will bury you with his love then create in you a demon of war. I am that demon and I will turn to him in the light of day and slice his beating heart in two. He was the one who gave me life. I am the one who will end his. You want to touch my dark side Mrs. Katie Sparks? Do not test it. I hide it because it will destroy you if you glance at me in the wrong way. I can ruin you. I am who they call the hunted. Let me be.
Katie: Shakti, I think you have some serious issues. Have you ever considered getting professional help?
Well my loyal readers unfortunately the interview ends here. At that point upon my last line of questioning Shakti got up and walked out. For whatever reason she decided not to continue. Is she a hero or mass murderer? You decided. Next week I will try and sit down with her student and lover Seth Xavier. Until then peace, love and prosperity.
