Shakti Gets Killed?

Check out the new DVD of Star Wars Episode III. In the deleted scenes there is one scene where Jedi Knight Shakti gets killed by General Grievous. It’s pretty cool. But what’s with the sudden movement in naming characters after Shakti?

COMING SOON: NEW DRAFT!

Hey Guys,

I want you to know that we are working on a new draft of the script. That's right it just keeps getting better. We have some exciting new changes that will add greater depth to the screenplay. So far we have been getting really positive feedback about it. Don't worry, we are not adding any more pages. Heck, if anything we're cutting some pages to make it a tighter draft. There will be more action, more comedy and more drama. I want to also thank all of you for providing us with some great ideas. Please be sure to write them down and get them to me as soon possible!

TRAVIS GETS MCDONALD'S COMMERCIAL

I am sitting back working on my computer when I happen to glance at my TV. There before my eyes was my lead actor Travis Winfrey on television! It was a McDonald's commercial. The spot featured him and him alone. But the truly great part about it was that it wasn't your typical commercial containing black people from a white person's perspective. You know what I mean one of those spots full of "soul" as if black people are all one monolithic group. Congratulations Travis! You are on your way man!

Is Travis Hiding Out?

Just as a note Travis could not make the rehearsal today. I heard through the grapevine that Desi kicked his butt at the last rehearsal. She had learned some new martial arts techniques from 39th and one-fourth Degree Ninja Master Ron Armstrong and with great enthusiasm used them on Travis. So it is highly suspicious that he couldn't make today's rehearsal. Some say that he his hiding from Desi. Others say he is a girlie-man. Well, there is another old saying which goes "You can run but you can't hide. Sooner or later Travis you will have to face Desi again!

MAD PRAISES FOR MY TEAM

Today, I traveled to Brooklyn to meet my co-writer Rakhunuhepp at the Ausar Auset temple. After giving me two scoops of "cookies and cream" ice-cream he told me to meet him upstairs in his office. As usual he didn't say exactly why but I made the trip up two long flight of stairs. Oh, by the way the ice-cream made out of Tofu was the bomb!

When I got to his computer Rakhu loaded his version of Master Killers. In addition to the one I wrote, Rakhu went ahead and did an entire rewrite himself. So for all you fans out there, yes there are two versions of the script. If you go to 125th street you may be able to get one of the bootleg versions where Shakti goes wild and runs through Central Park naked. Anyway, we've been under a lot of pressure to really cut the script down from 116 pages to 95. Rakhu began showing me specific scenes where he would cut dialogue and pages. I was truly excited as he managed to cut many things but at the same time weave in new twists. In short, the man is bad! I have never worked with a writer so talented. Yes, anyone can cut a scene but it takes real skill not to loose anything in the process. As I left on my way to rehearsal with Travis and Adesina, I was feeling really good about the script. Six years of rewrites were finally paying off. I knew we had something no other indie filmmaker or writer had.

At rehearsal I was further amazed by both Travis and Adesina. After finishing her lines, Desi as she likes to be called, looked at me for feedback. I just stood there speechless. She had it! That was it! That's what I had been looking for all this time. Next, Travis did his thing. As he stopped to look for my feedback strangely he couldn't find me. That's because I was on the floor laughing in utter pain. He was awesome! He hit his mark and made the scene even funnier than I had written it. My phone then rang and it was the beautiful and talented actress Christine. She wanted to know her training schedule for the upcoming week. She couldn't wait to get started with the martial arts instructor. The girl is devoted!

Man, I was in heaven. This was my dream team. This is the cast that a director only dreams about. These guys were so awesome. Six years of casting and now I have the perfect players. God was smiling on me. As we ended the session I went home, telephoned Halle Berry, then laid down in my bed next to Curious George. Yes, it was a damn good day.

PS
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!!!

BACK FROM AUSAR AUSET RETREAT

Hey guys, I just returned from this year's Ausar Auset Retreat. I am happy to say that it was a wonderful experience. It was an opportunity to turn inward and work on one's spiritual development as well as gain creative inspiration.

The annual retreat was an international event with people, along with priests and priestesses, from all over the world. Watching the young women around me studying the Kamitic religion made me think of Shakti. Who knows maybe one will be a Shakti in the near future. Everyone was so supportive of the project and eager to hear the latest news. Of course I ran my mouth off about the great cast we have assembled. However, I must give credit to Rakhunuhepp who really rolled out the red carpet for me. He made sure that all my needs were addressed.

I must also bow to the brother's (and God's) wisdom. Before going to the retreat he said that he did an oracle reading which said that we should rename the film "Shakti." Although I had my doubts he kept telling me that people would love it. Strange enough no one at the retreat was feeling the name "Master Killers." However, when I pulled out a special proposal with the title "Shakti" in big lettering they all went crazy. The young girls there couldn't stop reading the Chronicles of Shakti. The energy level was so high that during one of the rituals I got a call from my actresses Christine. She was excited and couldn't wait to tell me about some insight she had into Shakti's character. Her and I talked while dancers and drummers played in the background.

Christine was right on point and really gave us some good material to work with. She is so awesome. I must admit that I am very happy with the level of support and talent that is behind this project. It is my hope that Shakti will serve as the vehicle to inspire women and men all over the world. The retreat was just the start before we know it everyone will be part of Shaktism! Hetep!
